About

This blog is written by a resident of West Berkeley, California in USDA zone 9b. The garden that the blog focuses on is 10 miles east of San Francisco, California in a microclimate that sees foggy days during most of the beginning of summer and warmer more pleasant days August through most of October.

The garden has 10 raised beds made from sustainably harvested Port Oxford cedar that we ordered from Naturalyards, a business based in Oregon, that received an editors choice award from Organic Gardening Magazine.

The square footage of raised beds that we have to work with is approximately 208 square feet (19.3 square meters).
